“Free Chi Friday” continues during March and April, 2013:
With wonderful turnouts during January and February, Sifu is continuing the Meditative Tai Chi Hour on Fridays 6:30 p.m. through March and April. Enjoy the feeling of the Tai Chi Short Form and improve your movements as Sifu guides us through the Short Form approximately six times during the hour.
Starting Soon-Tai Chi Martial Workout
Fridays 7:30 PM
You Will Relax…You Will Use Tai Chi Principles in Fighting…and You Will Sweat!
An effective combination of learning and working-out to condition you while
applying Tai Chi Principles in a safe controlled environment

Learn to use effective Tai Chi principles in practical “street” self defense applications.
Use actual Tai Chi martial techniques, such as punches, kicks, grabs, and other moves as the foundation of the workout.
Use natural movements to evade attacks and set up the opponent for simple, yet powerful
counter-attacks, using the opponent’s force against himself as was Tai Chi’s original intent.
Learn how to use traditional Tai Chi principles with modern moves.
Each conditioning-based workout class in this 12-class sequence will cover:
Tai Chi principle for the exercise;
Demonstration of the technique;
Individualized instruction;
Partner reinforcement practice.
Work with people of all sizes and reaches in a safe environment to increase your awareness, sensitivity and reactions.
If you have already studied Tai Chi, you will discover the martial applications within your form;
have additional routines to vary the speed and intensity of your home practice; and learn more about the valuable techniques and benefits of “muscle isolation.”
Open to students with some knowledge of Tai Chi and a desire to apply that knowledge.
Class begins as soon as we have a minimum enrollment.
For a great and safe Tai Chi workout, join this class and get into amazing shape by summer!
Fee: $250 for 12 classes (Free for yearly members)

Did you know … that Master Colon is a recipient of the “Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Honors 2013 Excellence in Teaching of Martial Arts” award? On January 26-27, Sifu Colon was presented with this prestigious honor at a ceremony of over 1,000 martial arts colleagues in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Welcome to all our new students, and welcome back to some old friends of the School: The School welcomes our many new students who have been lovingly dubbed “the 13’ers” by our marketing department, and we also welcome back some faces we have not seen in a while, particularly those of you who have joined us at the Friday night classes.
Weather (and other) Announcements: We announce weather closings and other special events on Twitter @SifuColon. We also try to send out broadcast emails for emergency purposes, but the best way to help us to stay in touch with you is through Twitter. Even if you don’t prefer to signup at present, take a look at Sifu’s account and you’ll see that they’re limited tweets.
The School’s 35th Annual Chinese New Year’s Party celebrating the Year of the Snake was held on Saturday, February 2nd to very kind reviews. Demonstrations included the full Two-Person Form, presentations of the Broad Sword and Saber Forms, and a custom “Short Form” created and performed by Master Colon, which included some lightning-speed moves eliciting audible surprise from the audience. This year’s Party also featured some testimonials from students who attribute their health recovery directly to Tai Chi. We extend our particular appreciation to all who attended and those of you who performed for our guests.
