Tai Chi Classes for Seniors Fee: $7 per class, plus $20 materials fee (one time only) As a community service, seniors 60 years or older may attend these discounted Tai Chi Classes to improve balance, flexibility and strength, all while reducing stress. These gentle and fun exercise classes are held every Friday at 9:30 am at the Tai Chi School of Westchester, 27 Milburn Street, Bronxville. You may begin at any time and continue as long as you wish. These classes have been ongoing since 2001. Wear loose and comfortable clothes and flat-bottomed shoes or sneakers. The class begins with seated exercises focusing on relaxed breathing and gentle stretching that anyone will be able to perform, and then continues with standing exercises. Participate at your own comfort level. Individualized instruction is given to assure you of receiving the maximum benefits in a safe environment. Master Domingo Colon has over 40 years Tai Chi experience and has been teaching Tai Chi for seniors since 1970. Besides this extensive Tai Chi background, Master Colon also has training in physical therapy, thereby providing you with the best in Eastern and Western healing methods, and is the creator of the video series "Fundamentals of Tai Chi." Master Colon is also the author of "Senior’s Tai Chi Workout" a book especially designed to allow seniors to easily practice Tai Chi on their own at home.
